KARACHI; Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Rabita Committee Deputy Convener Dr Farooq Sattar said that Pakistan is being affected by external and internal dangers, DawnNews reported.
Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, Dr Farooq Sattar said that the MQM have called for a national referendum on November 8.
He said the people of Pakistan have to decide whether they want Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah's Pakistan or the (Pakistani) Taliban's.
"The (Pakistani) Taliban are committing terrorism in the name of religion," he said.
He said that the Taliban kill people and cut their throats on the basis on terrorism and sectarianism. He said that they attack mosques, Imambargahs, mausoleums and are destroying girls schools.
Farooq Sattar said that the Taliban are also attacking the country's military and soldiers.
On Saturday, MQM chief Altaf Hussain had said that the public referendum announced by the MQM would be an important step in the direction of changing the destiny of country and bracing it for facing challenges in the world.
He asked the people to take active part in the referendum and express their opinions.
