CHITRAL, Oct 18: Fatal diseases like hepatitis and typhoid can be avoided by washing hands with detergent each time after attending washroom and before eating meals and washing the water utensils, including jugs and glasses.
This was stressed by health professionals while speaking at a function held in connection with the Global Hand Washing Day at Booni town the other day. Health professionals said 50 per cent diseases could be avoided by improving hygienic conditions.
The function was arranged by the Aga Khan Planning and Building Service (AKPBS) and attended by people from all walks of life, including students.The speakers said sensitisation of the society regarding health and hygiene and inculcating in the people the habit of keeping themselves clean to avoid diseases was necessary. They said students can help disseminate basic knowledge of hygiene. — Correspondent
