ISLAMABAD: Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Tuesday said the opposition would extend support to the government on issues of national interest, urging the government to implement parliamentary resolutions.

Speaking on a point of order, Nisar questioned the rationale behind seeking the opposition's support for operation in North Waziristan despite a statement by the interior minister that Maulana Fazlullah had planned the attack on Malala Yousufzai while sitting in Afghanistan.

He asked as what would be the outcome of a fresh resolution when all resolutions on crucial national issues were awaiting implementation.

Nisar demanded of the government to apprise the House as to why these resolutions have not yet been enforced, calling for immediate implementation of a resolution on the revision of petroleum prices.
