Almeida column

EDITORIALS are galore in condemning firebrand politicians. However, it was extremely disturbing to see the same phenomenon in a prestigious daily like Dawn.

‘The demagogue in Khan’ and further the start of the column by Cyril Almeida (Oct 7) were in poor taste. Pushing one’s point of view down people’s throats could be done in a decent way, and there is no need for contaminating a comment.

The Almeida column was a correct and balanced analysis of Imran's equivocal stance on extremism. More of such columns are needed.
