QUETTA, Oct 6: The medical officer of district hospital Mastung, Dr Abdul Hamid Shahwani, was shot dead on Saturday, police said.

The medical officer was going home from his clinic when unidentified assailants on a motorbike opened fire at his car in Killi Lika area.

The doctor was killed and his bodyguard was injured.

A case against unknown killers was registered and investigation was in progress,
