LAHORE, Sept 30: A 32-year-old labourer allegedly committed suicide following prolonged unemployment and poverty in Ali Husnainabad locality of Sundar on Sunday.

Quoting family, Sundar police said Javed Masih had been searching for job for the last few months. On Sunday, he locked himself in his room and shot self. He was rushed to Jinnah Hospital where he died. He has a son.

Police handed over the body to the family.

CRIMINALS: Liaquatabad police claim to have arrested six members of a robbers’ gang and seized from them six cell phones, gold ornaments, two motorcycles, some valuables and illegal weapons.

According to a handout issued on Sunday, a police team raided a locality and managed to capture Mubashir alias Mubashari and his accomplices Sajjad, Shafique, Bilal, Zahid and Muhammad Bilal.

The suspects confessed to 21 incidents of dacoity and robbery in different parts of the city during preliminary interrogation.
