LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday issued contempt of court notices to Federal Minister on religious affairs Khursheed Shah and Secretary of the ministry while hearing the Haj-quota case, DawnNews reported.

Chief Justice of the LHC Umar Atta Bandial directed the ministry of religious affairs to allot quota to the tour operators who satisfy the merit requirements. Adding that, the chief justice said that the ministry should keep the in loop of the quota allotment process.

The LHC was informed at the start of the hearing that despite the court order, the quotas have not been allotted to the tour operators.

The Chief Justice showed displeasure over delay in the allotment and remarked that if there was corruption in the ministry, the court would not let it happen.
