Shutters down in Battagram

MANSEHRA, Sept 22: People on Saturday protested in Battagram area against the production of an anti-Islam film in the US.

Traders observed a shutter down strike, while women took to the streets to protest the sacrilegious act.

Jamaat-i-Islami women wing’s workers staged a rally on Abbottabad Road holding banners and placards and shouting slogans against the US. They also burnt US and Israeli flags.

Swabi, too, saw rallies against the anti-Islam film in the day.

In line with the call given by All Teacher Association, local teachers marched from Government Middle School to Karnal Sher Khan Chowk, where their leaders delivered speeches against the anti-Islam film.

Shouting slogans against the US and its allies in war on terror, traders in Razaar tehsil protested in Shewa Adda area blocking Swabi-Mardan Road for more than an hour.

Government Postgraduate College students marched from Swabi College to Karnal Sher Khan Chowk against the blasphemous film.
