RECENT reports about the recurrence of the dengue virus in Lahore and at some other places is a matter of grave concern.

Dengue haemorrhagic fever is a potentially lethal complication affecting the victims, mainly children. Its symptoms are high fever, intense headache, nausea, vomiting, muscle and joint pain, severe itching, rash, pain behind the eyes, loss of appetite and fatigue.

Symptoms may progress to massive bleeding, shock, and death.

Proper preventive measures should be taken in consultation with doctors.
