LAHORE: Stopping the young doctors from boycotting their professional duties, the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday summoned the minutes of a meeting regarding the doctors’ service structure by Sept 10, DawnNews reported.

The case was heard by LHC’s Justice Ejazul Hasan.

During the hearing, the Punjab government’s lawyer informed the court that the provincial government was making extensive efforts to resolve the conflict with the Young Doctors’ Association (YDA).

He added that with regards to the doctors’ problems, 42 out of 45 points had been agreed upon between the government and the doctors.

However, the Punjab government’s counsel made it clear that the provincial government would not be accepting junior doctors’ demands of direct promotion to the 18th scale and four increments per annum.

On the other hand, YDA representatives said that the court should first deal with the issue of the meeting’s minutes.

After listening to the arguments, the court stopped the YDA from boycotting their duties and ordered the provincial government to submit the meeting’s minutes at the next hearing.
