LAHORE: Chief Minister of Punjab, Shahbaz Sharif announced on Thursday that tuition fees for disabled students would be waived in all public sector schools and colleges, as well as a two per cent quota would be established for them in government service, DawnNews reported.

A group of representatives from various districts of the province came to meet the chief minister.

At the meeting, Shahbaz Sharif said that the existing standards of cancer research in Pakistan must be improved.

Shahbaz Sharif met a group of representatives from the Blind Association. During the meeting, he assured them that the blind students shall be exempt from paying fees, as well as a two per cent quota will be established for them in government service.

The CM also said that the police should perform their duties.

Furthermore, he added that it is the duty of the police to listen to the public’s complaints and work towards alleviating them.

He also said that the law enforcement agencies must obtain assistance from the intelligence network in order to catch suspects and accused. He added that all the requirements of administration of justice must be followed at all costs.

Moreover, Shahbaz Sharif also announced an aid package of Rs 5lacs for poor families.
