LAHORE: Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Saturday reiterated his resolve to block all mobiles SIMs which are issued against stolen or fake ID cards, DawnNews reported.

Commenting on the IBMS, the interior minister said that it would check data of every passenger coming in or going out of the country and it would be verified and recorded.

The minister also announced pride of performance awards for the staff of NADRA, FIA and other departments who contributed in installing the system.

Highlighting the new system, Malik said in the past data was stolen but the new system was fully protected and result-oriented.

He said that this data would be provided to all the law enforcement agencies for eradication of   terrorism.

The minister also announced to increase duration of passport from five to ten years from September 15, 2012.

Moreover, the interior minister ordered for deployment of task forces at every airport of the country comprising Customs, Anti Narcotics Force and Civil Aviation Authority personnel and added that first task force would be inaugurated by him on September 15.
