RAWALPINDI, Aug 19: A man was robbed of Rs400,000 by two gunmen near Faizabad while three women of a family were robbed of gold jewellery by two motorbike riders in Pindora area, police said. Waheed Akhtar, a resident of Kalar Syedan, told New Town police that he and his wife, and sisters were going to visit his relatives in Pindora.

He further said as he was crossing a speed breaker, he found two motorbike riders blocking his way at the speed breaker. The motorbike riders pulled out their pistols as he stopped his vehicle and forced the three women traveling in the van to give up gold ornaments and cash.

The complainant told the police that the gunmen snatched 14 gold bangles, two gold rings, two necklaces and two mobile phones from women and later escaped from the scene.Imtiaz Ahmed, another robbery victim was on his way home after drawing Rs 400,000 from commercial bank branch Satellite Town, when he was intercepted by two motorbike riders near Faizabad.

He said the gunmen threatened to kill him, if he did not hand over the cash bag.

In another incident, two unidentified robbers forcibly entered the house of Ms Saira Shahzad at Adiala road and held her at gunpoint.

She said the robbers stole Rs25,000 and two mobile phones lying in the cupboard and later escaped after locking her in a room.
