Astronomy

The new column in the Young World magazine titled ‘Astronomy’ is a wonderful addition, especially for those who are interested in this subject.

Arif A. Abbasi provides us with useful information about space, galaxies, etc., in a very interesting manner which makes this column even more appealing to read. Hats off to the Young World team for coming up with such interesting ideas.

The dragon ship swing

The dragon ship swing by Afsah Ahmed (YW, August 4, 2012) was a beautiful story that reminded me of my childhood days when I, along with my friends, used to enjoy the rides of the dragon ship swing.

Those were the best days of my life when I was carefree and had true friends with whom I spent some memorable moments of my childhood.

Gorgeous Galiat

This is regarding the feature Gorgeous Galiat by Mohammad Niaz (YW, July 21, 2012). The article was interesting to read and made me realise that Pakistan is full of scenic beauty and we are blessed to be born in a place where God has provided us with so many natural places where we can go to spend our holidays.

But unfortunately, we take every blessing for granted and instead of treasuring the natural beauty of Pakistan, we do things that contribute towards the destruction of our natural resources.

As mentioned in the article too, visitors should behave like responsible citizens at such picnic spots and make every possible effort to keep recreational places neat and clean. It is our homeland and everything that we do for its development and construction will eventually come back to us.

Facts about languages

Facts about various languages (YW, August 4, 2012) were really useful. In fact the information provided in Young World magazine is always useful.

The best part is that the information is not delivered in a boring and uninteresting way, rather the YW team puts every possible effort in providing the readers with helpful knowledge in an enjoyable way.

Themed quotes

Every week quotes related to the cover stories of the Young World magazine make the issue even more interesting and useful to read.

Friendship related quotes for the Friendship Day cover story, mother-related quotes for the Mother’s Day and so on — the quotes not only guide us but also make it clearer what the cover story is meant for. I appreciate the Young World staff for their dedication and hard work.

The sweet song of freedom

This is with reference to the story The sweet song of freedom by Shahida Paracha (YW, August 11, 2012). The story was awesome and conveyed a very important message to all those who love to capture birds as their hobby.

It’s unfair to snatch any living being’s freedom! We should love and take care of animals and birds, and that can be done without keeping them in cage. We can simply put birds’ food and water in our verandas or terraces, and many birds will arrive at our home to have their meal.

This way not only we can please God but can also make birds our friends without depriving them of their freedom.
