In the city, main procession was taken out from Imambargah Ashiq Hussain Teli Mohallah which culminated into a rally at Committee Chowk.

Addressing the rally, Allama Syed Qamar Haider Zaidi Central Secretary Information TNFJ said that the day was being observed at a time when Kamra Airbase was attacked and when innocent fasting passengers were massacred in Naran area. The incidents, he added, has belied the government claims of providing security to the Shia community.

Central Convener of Youm Al-Quds Himayat-e-Mazloomin Committee Meesam Tammar in his address said that the contacts of the federal and provincial governments with the banned groups could be blamed for the incidents of terrorism, murder and arson.

He appealed to the chief justice to take immediate notice of this precarious situation and take concrete and practical steps to rid the people of terrorism and those banned groups that are responsible for it.

A resolution was unanimously adopted by the participants of the rally on the occasion condemning the colonial activities going on in Muslim States and terrorist activities in Pakistan by its perpetual enemies. It said this nefarious tactics were an open challenge to the Muslim Ummah and the Pakistani nation.

The resolution said the whole nation was the symbol of protest on the occasion of Al-Quds Day and they would continue till the oppressed get freedom.

The resolution demanded the government to give exemplary punishment to the terrorists who were turning the foundations of the motherland hollow through continuous incidents of terrorism.

It strongly demanded the government to take concrete protective measures aimed at making the sensitive routes to Gilgit-Baltistan, of Quetta-Taftaan, Peshawar-Parachinar free of any risk for the citizen travelling on these routes because contrary to the government claims many incidents have taken place on these routes killing dozens of innocent people and hundreds of them are still under treatment in hospitals.
