ISLAMABAD: In a telephonic conversation with Opposition Leader Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on Thursday assured the Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) of resolving all outstanding issues through reconciliation and mutual understanding, DawnNews reported.

The conversation between the two leaders focused on the current political scenario in the country and bilateral cooperation between the two sides.

The prime minister appreciated the role of Chaudhry Nisar as Leader of the Opposition and expressed the hope that all issues between the government and the opposition would be resolved through dialogue and in spirit of understanding.

Earlier on Tuesday, however, Nisar had tried to dispel the impression that both the government and the opposition were working on the same process.

Hinting at starting consultations with opposition parties to evolve consensus on a caretaker prime minister, the opposition leader had made it clear that he would not consult any member of the parties constituting the ruling coalition, including the JUI-F.
