LAHORE, July 28: DIG (Operations) Rai Muhammad Tahir paid a visit to several police check-posts and pickets across the city and issued necessary security guidelines to on-duty policemen.

He reprimanded few in-charges for showing leniency in checking motorists and directed them to perform their duty vigilantly. The DIG also ordered his force to be alert keeping in view the reports of possible terrorist incidents during Ramazan.

He checked vehicles at check-posts and issued necessary guidelines to the policemen for the procedure of checking vehicles and performing security duty. He visited Babu Sabu, Ravi Bridge and Mohlanwal posts.

SUSPENDED: A sub-inspector and a moharrar of the Lahore police have been suspended from service for multiple reasons.

According to a handout issued here on Saturday, the SSP Internal Accountability Division/member vigilance paid surprise visits to police stations of Naulakha and Nawab Town.

He issued suspension orders of Moharrar Muhammad Latif of Naulakha police station after finding on duty officials without police uniform and the filthy state of cleanliness of ammunition and the police station building.

During his visit to the Nawab Town police station, the SSP also suspended Sub-Inspector Arshad Baig for keeping one Naveed in illegal detention.

RECITATION: The provincial police chief has issued orders to begin daily activities in every police establishment with the recitation of the Holy Quran.

This order will be implemented in CPO’s offices, Regional and District offices, Police Lines, Police Training Schools, including the CCPO Lahore and its sub-offices. All sectional heads of these offices will be answerable in case of any violation of this order.
