ISLAMABAD, July 27: The government has approved Oscar award winner Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and tennis star Aisamul Haq as principal and alternative nominees of Pakistan as Saarc Goodwill Ambassador for HIV/Aids.

Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf approved the nominations on a summary moved by the ministry of foreign affairs, according to a press release issued by the Prime Minister’s Secretariat on Friday.

The Saarc secretariat had invited one or two nominations from each member state for appointment as goodwill ambassador for HIV/Aids.
