THE prime minister is entitled to unimaginable perks once he leaves his office even if he has served the office for even a single minute.
At the cost of the taxpayers’ hard-earned money, the former prime ministers are entitled to a lifetime of perks, including car, fuel, air tickets, servants, telephone facilities, free electricity and water, personal staff and a sprawling bungalow with security in the heart of the country’s capital.
There is a need to change the law which provides these outrageous facilities to the former prime ministers, including caretaker premiers, and make it mandatory that the minimum period to be eligible for these perks should not be less than three years in office.

Indeed agreed. For a poor country like us, such perks and previlages are certainly not affordable. And even in richer and more devloped countries like UK and USA, there is no such practice. This is indeed very shamefull.

A car, no less than BMW, Air tickets ...First Class, Servants 24/7....at least three with eight hours shift, Free Telephone
including International calling facility (to call their children --who are of -course settled in the West), Free Electricity with no load shedding and no limit on number of air conditioners, Free Water with swimming pool, Personal Staff to polish their shoes, Bungalow with basement to store black money (Swiss accounts are out of fashion --CJ has an eye to see thru the vaults), Security Guards from a foreign country as local security guards have become more trigger happy and do not hesitate to turn the guns on their bosses. The PM deserve all the above for serving the poor nation, Islamic Republic of Pakistan so diligently.

This reminds me of our first Governor General, Quaid -e- Azam who used to take Re 1 as his pay only to prove that he was the servant of a newly created country with weak economy.

This system only exists Pakistan. Some of the richest countries in the world such as the US and Britain only pay a modest pention to their former heads of the state.
