KARACHI: Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister on Interior Affairs, Rehman Malik has said that Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) is involved in creating unrest and terrorist activities in Balochistan to destabilise the country.

This he stated while addressing a gathering during his visit to Pakistan Coast Guard (PCG) office here on Monday.

He said Pakistan and Afghanistan have agreed to work jointly to stop cross border intrusion and hoped that the Afghan government would honour its commitment and stop cross border attacks.

Malik said that BLA was a biggest enemy of the country and it was working against Pakistan.

He said they have reached to the roots of BLA and expressed the confidence that it would be eliminated soon.

The advisor further said that BLA had made hostage to the people of Lyari, adding that two helicopters are being provided to Karachi police to take action against “bhatta mafia” (extortionists) who were extorting money in the holy month of Ramzan.

Malik announced to give additional half a million rupees to the families of seven personnel who were killed in Coast Guard attack while their sons would be provided jobs in PCG and their daughters would be employed in NADRA.
