KARACHI, July 10: A man and his son were shot dead in a Keamari locality over a petty dispute on Tuesday, said police.

The officials added that the incident took place in Boota Village within the remit of the Jackson police station where two neighbours had a heated debate before using firearms against one another.

As a result of the firing, Sher Bahadur, 65, and his son, Sher Ali, 40, suffered serious gunshot wounds and died before they could be shifted to a nearby private hospital.

Later, the bodies were taken to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.

The police said that the killers escaped following the incident.

Jackson SHO Yar Mohammad Rind said that a day earlier both the neighbours had an altercation but they were pacified by the area people. However, they again quarrelled on Tuesday over the issue of privacy of their houses, he added.

Youth shot dead A young man was shot dead in a Quaidabad locality, said police.

They added that Anwar Ali, 24, a fruit seller, was shot dead in Muslimabad near Gul Ahmed Chowrangi.

The police shifted the body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.

Quaidabad SHO Amanullah said that the victim originally hailed from Swat and had come to Karachi about two months back and started selling fruit.

Quoting the victim’s brothers, he said that the killing appeared to be motivated by some personal enmity.

He said that the family would lodge an FIR following the funeral.

Two bodies found The body of a young man was found along the Malir River in the Shah Latif area, said police.

They added that the victim had been shot in the head. The body was shifted to the JPMC, where the victim was identified as Zohaib.

The police said that the victim was allegedly a member of the Sohail Dada gang in Salar Goth, Malir.

Another bullet-riddled body of a young man was found in Lyari on Tuesday morning, said police.

They said that the body was found in the Safee Lane area. It was shifted to the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination. Kalri SHO Safdar Mashwani said that the victim was hit by five bullets; one in the forehead and four in the face.

The body was placed at the Edhi morgue for want of identification.

Wounded ANP man dies An ANP worker who had sustained gunshot wounds in the late Monday night attack on the car of Sindh ANP Joint Secretary Ismail Mehsud at Shafiq Morr died later during treatment at a hospital.

Mohammad Shakeel was driving the car when it was sprayed with a volley of bullets by armed men riding a motorbike within the remit of the F.B. Industrial Area police station.

“Mehsud survived the attack, but his driver Mohammad Shakil suffered fatal gunshot wounds,” said Gulberg division SP Tanveer Odho.

The victim was rushed to the JPMC where he died during treatment.

After medico-legal formalities at the hospital, the funeral prayer of the victim was offered on Abul Hasan Ispahani Road.
