THERE is no control on the prices of commodities and the Consumer Price Index moved up drastically along with the price hike.

Now with marginally good relief on fuel prices, neither transporters nor the sellers of commodities came up to lower the hiked prices. In fact, even Nepra did not announce any reduction in electricity tariff.

It is the role of the government to make sure that transporters lower fares, sellers of daily-use commodities lower prices and Nepra reduces power rates so that much-needed relief is provided to the people.
