LAHORE: A two-member bench of the High court division on Thurday took up the hearing of the bail application filed by Federal Minister Makhdoom Shahabuddin in the ephedrine quota case, DawnNews reported.

The Lahore High Court also directed the Anti Narcotics Force (ANF)to submit to the court, all records pertaining to the case.

In the bail application submitted by Shahabuddin, he had raised the point that granting of additional quota is not the prerogative of a minister rather it is within the jurisdiction of a DG.

He further added that the whole issue was a conspiracy hatched to stop him from taking the post of prime minister.

Speaking to the media persons after the hearing, the federal minister said that he was relieved to have been granted interim bail.
