ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan ordered Rehman Malik, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Interior, to submit a written reply on changing the investigation team of Steel Mill corruption case on Tuesday, DawnNews reported.

A three-member bench led by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was hearing the case.

Chief Justice said that the team was structured by mutual consent on court’s orders and restructuring the team was an intrusion in court’s work. Tariq Khosa was removed from the investigative team causing much damage to the enquiry.

However, Rehman said that the team was dissolved on commands of the court.

During the proceedings of the case, Rehman Malik said that Justice Javed Iqbal exempted him from attending the hearing; however, Chief Justice said that no such order was mentioned in the case file.

The hearing was adjourned until July 23.
