THIS is apropos of Dr Shaaz Mehboob’s letter ‘Dr Afridi deserves reward’ (June 4). If Dr Afridi is a traitor, then the people who let Al Qaeda’s head live in Pakistan are much bigger traitors. Dr Afridi has been punished instead of receiving a reward.

A question . . . Dr. Afridi, Why did you help America to find Osama Bin Laden, for whom we were paid billions and we had been repeatedly saying for ten years that we were trying our best to find him but didn't want to, but you found him. Why? You are not a patriot. Shame on you!

America is now fully aware of Pakistan's real motives and intentions despite an ally in war on terror. What will be America's next move will not come as surpise to anyone. The matters have gone too far to a point of no reconciliation.

Thanks Bea, unfortunately we dont use common sense anymore and the only thing we understand is hatred. I wish people in authorities realise this and correct soon to give a bad name for a decent man who did good for the whole society.

If you by that yardstick then Perhaps all People in Power ( Serving or Retired , Military as well as Civilians ) since the Sweit tanks rolled into Afghanistan Till Today , are the Biggest proven beyond any iota of doubts , TRAITORS and must be jailed for multiple life Imprisonment ( if alive ) or Symbolic chains must decorate their Graves ( specially the biggest of them all the Zia ul haq and his cronies ) ... No Shaeeds , No Jehad , No Ghazi , Just Plain Blank TRAITORS .

Sadly, Dr Afridi's punishment has sent all the wrong signals to the rest of the world that the establishment and a chunk of the Pakistani population do support terrorists like OBL and the likes of Taliban, even though they've slaughtered thousands of Pakistani men, women and children.
We cry foul over US drone attacks and the NATO strike that killed Pakistani soldiers, however, has someone not counted the death toll of Pakistani soldiers and civilians as a result of Taliban action, within the same month as the NATO strike? What about the soldiers kidnapped and shot at point blank range by the Taliban not so long ago? Why isn't there any street protest against such atrocities?
