SRINAGAR: An official in Indian-administered Kashmir says an army helicopter has crashed on a glacier battlefield high in the Himalayas, killing the pilot and injuring another person.

Army spokesman Lt Col J S Brar says the Indian Cheetah helicopter crashed Wednesday on Siachen Glacier, at the northern tip of the divided Kashmir region.

Brar says the army has ordered a probe into the crash.
