KARACHI, April 7: One of the leading television journalists, Asma Chaudhry has joined DawnNews as Deputy Editor Research and Analysis and Senior Anchor. She will be hosting a daily prime time show, Target Point, at 8pm, says a DawnNews press release.

Asma Chaudhry has been in the field of journalism for the past 11 years in various capacities such as sub-editor, diplomatic correspondent, anchorperson and senior analyst.

Asma has the distinction of being the first female Pakistani journalist who went to Afghanistan in 2005 for field reporting and interviewing the Taliban. She was awarded the Best Female Anchor, Current Affairs, at the Pakistan Media Awards 2011.
