ISLAMABAD: Central Secretary Information of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP), Qamar Zaman Kaira said on Thursday after consensus of all political parties on election commission, the parties are now on same page for holding free, fair and transparent elections in country.

Talking to a private TV channel, the former information minister said that transparency in the voter list is imperative for transparent elections, which is duty of incumbent government as well as the Election Commission of Pakistan.

He said after 20th amendment election commission will be transparent and care taker government would be set up through consensus of all political parties.

Pakistan Peoples Party, he said has always contested elections in all adverse conditions and now verified authentic electoral data would confirm free fair and transparent elections, he remarked.

Replying to a question, he said that electronic data has been compiled through an authentic means first time in history of the country, which is also the most transparent data for new voter lists.

Answering to another question, he rejected the demand for mid terms elections and said that government would complete its term and hold free, fair and impartial election in the country.

He said that wish of some political parties and a group of media which was creating hype for mid term election is unjustified.

He said a political government should complete its tenure and after next elections people of the country would elect their leaders through transparent electoral process and error free voter lists would ensured consistency in the democratic process.
