LONDON: Historic brand Pringle of Scotland and hot young designer Christopher Kane have shown their new womenswear collections at London Fashion Week.

Day 4 of the weeklong fashion extravaganza attracted front rows full of celebrities including Kanye West and actresses Tilda Swinton and Rosario Dawson.

More big names are expected at Burberry Prorsum later Monday, the highlight of the week.

Pringle, which is almost 200 years old and is best-known for its fine cashmere and twin set sweaters, showed modern takes on its rich archival patterns and knits. The relaxed, elegant spring and summer 2012 collection was the first Pringle show headed by British designer Alistair Carr, who joined Pringle in March after a stint at Balenciaga in Paris.
