KARACHI: A 46-year-old schoolteacher was raped by two men in her house in the PECHS on Sunday night.

According to police, the woman lives alone. She called a sweeper, who works in her school, for some cleaning work.

The sweeper, Louis Pervaiz, 26, came to the house along with Waqar, 18. They allegedly overpowered the woman with the help of a kitchen knife and committed the rape.

The victim raised alarm which alerted neighbours who called police helpline 15. They also managed to catch the suspects while they were fleeing.

In the meantime, police reached the place and took the suspects into custody.

The victim was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medical examination.

A medico-legal officer conducted the examination and reported there were positive findings of rape, police and hospital sources said.

An FIR under Section 376 (punishment for rape) of PPC was registered at the Tipu Sultan police station against the accused, on behalf of the woman.
