LAHORE: PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain chaired an emergency meeting on Sunday where it was decided that the party would boycott the parliamentary joint session on March 22, where the president is expected to appear in the parliament house for his speech.

The party’s decision to boycott was based on the release of CIA contractor Raymond Davis and the deadly US drone attack in Datta Khel.

Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-F (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman  said that he would reply after consultation with the party. However, he agreed with the PML-Q on this point.

According to party sources, Mushahid Hussain, Kamil Ali Agha, Parvez Elahi and Khalid Ranjha were also present at the meeting.
