Woman dies in shelling

MUZAFFARABAD, May 3: A woman died and three men were injured in Azad Kashmir in overnight shelling by Indian troops from across the Line of Control, police said on Friday.

The Indian troops started shelling with machine-guns and mortars on Thursday evening, targeting mainly the civilian populations in Forward Kahuta sector in Bagh district and Abbaspur sector in Poonch district, police said and added that the shelling continued till late night.

As a result, they said, a woman, Tasleem Akhtar, 25, wife of Alam Deen, died and two men, Basharat, 18, and Mohammad Abid, 20, were injured in Chirikot village in Forward Kahuta, while Mohammad Arshad, 17, was injured in Polas village of Abbaspur sector.
