KARACHI, March 6: ‘Moods of Women’, an exhibition of paintings by Mehtab Ali, opens at Citi art gallery on Wednesday at 5.30pm. On show will be 27 oil-on-canvas ingenious figurative artworks.

The artist put diverse shades of oriental women’s dispositions on canvas via textured oil paintings. A Karachi University graduate, he is at present working as a Director of Fine Arts Department, “Our Future World” Institute of the Japanese language.

Mehtab is a faithful disciple of the pioneers and great exponents of realistic art in Pakistan. He has been emulating his mentors successfully.

Mastering drawing the indispensable basic ingredient of all great art, he has ventured into a new realm. After his recent sojourn in Paris and forays in other European art capitals, Mehtab Ali’s art diction appears to have evolved and matured. His latest collection, ‘Moods of Oriental Women’, with a touch of impressionism is unique and very different from his past paintings.

The exhibition will continue till March 14, daily from 11am to 8pm. Citi art gallery is located at M-28, Mezzanine Floor, Corniche Residency Apartments, Block-2, Clifton, Opposite Bilawal House.
