PIA-Sats sign collaboration agreement

KARACHI, Feb 1: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and the Singapore Airport Terminal Services (Sats) on Wednesday entered into a broad-based collaboration agreement to be implemented in two phases.

The agreement was signed by Chairman PIA Tariq Kirmani and President and CEO of Sats Chin Hwee.

In the first phase, Sats will provide technical services including management of its Karachi flight kitchen, implementation and improvement of meal preparation methods, presentation and production management, investment in upgradation of PIA’s Karachi flight kitchen and in-flight catering equipment.

The Sats will also help PIA in improving the culinary quality and variety (including ethnic and gourmet cuisine) of in-flight meals and in menu development.

In the second phase, an in-flight catering joint venture will be undertaken through Advisory Ltd, an associated company of Sats, to provide in-flight catering services at Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore and other airports within Pakistan. —APP
