LAHORE: With seven more deaths in the last 24 hours and 487 new corona cases reported in Punjab on Monday, total number of deaths has reached 2,013, and the patients’ figure reached 87,043, says the primary and secondary health care department.

Though the number of confirmed cases has dropped substantially, Lahore is still the leading hotspot with 208 cases, with Gujrat following it with 40 cases, Faisalabad 30 and Rawalpindi 26 cases.

According to the department, 7,451 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, tracing 487 cases – almost half of 966 cases a week ago.

So far, Punjab has carried out 596, 974 tests, tracing 87, 043 confirmed cases.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, 2,848 patients have recovered, which is almost six times the recovery rate till a week ago when recoveries were ranging between 500 and 600 patients a day.
