SUKKUR: A group of enraged people belonging to the Manganhar community barged into a house in the Shamsabad area of Sukkur and brutally beat up the people inside, killing one of them and injuring several others on Saturday.
According to officials at the A-Section police, the intruders dragged the people out of the house and started beating them up mercilessly with clubs and other lethal objects. They were apparently enraged over eve-teasing by one member of the rival family, belonging to the Ansari community, some residents of the neighbourhood claimed.
Police said one of the victims, Allah Rakha, son of Mohammad Ismail Ansari, succumbed to his serious injuries.
Some members of the Manganhar community were taken into custody and taken to the A-Section police station for interrogation.
