LANDI KOTAL: Hundreds of emotionally charged people attended the funeral prayers of a khasadar here on Sunday evening after two days of protests against his alleged extrajudicial killing by the sleuths of Counter-Terrorism Department in Peshawar on Friday night.
Earlier, the protesters continued with the blockade of the main road leading to Torkham border by placing the body of Adnan Khan, who was among the five suspected terrorists killed by the CTD during an encounter, which the family of the deceased labeled as fabricated and fake.
Relatives of the deceased and activists of political parties demanded an impartial enquiry into the incident.
Reacting to the allegations and demands from the protesters, deputy commissioner Mehmud Aslam Wazir told Dawn that his administration had little to do with the killing of Adnan as the incident occurred in Peshawar.
He, however, said he would convey the reservations of the family to the officials concerned.
Meanwhile, the protesting tribesmen announced to continue their agitation on Monday till their demand was met. The road to Torkham was cleared to traffic after the funeral prayer was offered.
