LAHORE: The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) is going to hold its annual spring festival 2020 from Feb 23 with more than 15 colorful events such as flower exhibition, dog and cat shows, and music concerts.

The PHA in collaboration with a cell phone company, will carry out decoration and lighting on the canal. The authority will provide free entertainment services to the citizens at the festival.

Addressing a press conference at the PHA Headquarters at Jilani Park, PHA Chairman Engineer Yasir Gilani said the authority would hold various events to celebrate Jashn-i-Baharan and preparations had been made to provide free entertainment to the citizens.

The festival will begin with a dog show on Feb 23. A mural painting will take place and students from different colleges will participate in the painting competition. The “Cat Show” will take place on March 8 at Jilani Park and “Chirrian da Chamba” in Township in which women will highlight Pakistani culture.

Sufi night will be held at Bagh-i-Jinnah on March 9. A tableaux competition will take place on March 11 at Alhamra Hall where schoolchildren will offer lessons on various topics.

On March 14, a mushaira will be held at Bagh-i-Jinnah. Bird show will be held at Jilani Park on March 15 and cut flower show on March 20.
