LAHORE: Pakistan Railways (PR) is all set to launch an intercity-train shuttle service from Lahore to Gujranwala from February 24, as it has claimed to have completed arrangements in this regard.

Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmad is expected to inaugurate the service in Gujranwala.

The PR’s Lahore division has also reportedly decided to extend the Lahore-Raiwind train service route to Kasur, keeping in view the public demand. A formal notification would be issued soon, said the sources.

According to official sources, the one-way fare from Lahore to Gujrwanawal will be Rs100 and the train will have three round trips daily between the two cities.

The train will have stoppages at Badami Bagh, Shahdara, Kala Shah Kaku, Muridkey, Sadhoki, Kamoki and Aimanabad stations on the way to Gujranwala and back to Lahore.
