HARIPUR: The administration of a local college has banned the entry of a teacher and a female student to the institution after a video showing them together in an indecent posture got viral on social media, sources said on Saturday.

Official sources at the Government Postgraduate College for Boys, Haripur, said the video of a lecturer of English department with one of his students in an objectionable position was filmed by someone.

The video was uploaded on TikTok, a social media outlet, and the matter was brought to the notice of the college’s principle, who probed the matter and found the two guilty of the offence.

The college administration, according to sources, referred the case to the director higher education department, asking the teacher to report to the office of director higher education in Peshawar.

Principal Dr Mohammad Ashfaq confirmed the incident and said it was now domain of director higher education and the secretary education to decide whether they would confine their action to the disciplinary action against the teacher or refer him to police for further investigation and legal action.
