LAHORE: The government on Friday transferred Federal Government Inspector of Railways (FGIR) Dost Ali Leghari and posted him as chief executive officer/senior general manager (SGM) of the Pakistan Railways (PR).

Mr Leghari’s appointment was made after Prime Minister Imran Khan approved a summary containing recommendation of a selection committee in this regard, according to documents made available with Dawn.

“On consideration of the proposal at para 8 read with recommendations of the selection committee at para 12 of the summary, the prime minister has been pleased to approve posting of Mr Dost Ali Leghari, BS-21 officer of civil engineering department (PR), as CEO/SGM in the PR in his own pay and scale till the availability of regular BS-22 incumbent with immediate effect,” reads a letter issued by the PM secretariat.

Through a notification issued by the Ministry of Railways on Friday, the railways board announced appointment of Mr Leghari as CEO/SGM. “Consequent upon the approval of the PM, Mr Dost Ali Leghari, a BS-21 officer is transferred from the post of FGIR and posted as CEO/SGM (BS-22) with immediate effect,” reads the notification.

Mr Leghari had earlier on Jan 3 been deputed to look after the post of CEO/SGM in addition to his own duties as the FGIR.
