LAHORE: A sessions court on Friday issued a notice to police on a petition by a lawyer seeking registration of a criminal case against PTI MNA Faisal Vawda allegedly for disrespecting the institution of army by showing a “boot” in a television talk show.
Advocate Rana Nauman argued that he filed an application with the Old Anarkali police for lodging an FIR but the police were reluctant to act in accordance with law. He sought a court’s direction to the police to register a case against the parliamentarian for bringing dishonour to the state institution.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Saifullah Hanjra sought a reply from the SHO by Monday.
