LAHORE: The investigation police in late night raids arrested 29 more lawyers, including a few women lawyers, nominated in the two FIRs registered against them in the wake of Wednesday’s attack on the Punjab Institute of Cardiology.

Various teams constituted for the purpose raided houses and other premises in various parts of the provincial capital to arrest the lawyers involved in attack.

Of them, eight lawyers were arrested by Mozang police, three by Hudyara police, five each by North and South Cantonmnet police, eight by Kahna police and five were arrested by Faisal Town police.

The police teams shifted the arrested lawyers to an undisclosed place to avoid any backlash by the legal fraternity, a police source said.

With these arrests, the total number of arrested lawyers rose to 75, as 46 had been arrested on Wednesday.
