PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Secretary Dr Kazim Niaz has directed divisional and district administrations to focus on removing encroachments in their respective regions to facilitate the public.

Presiding over a high-level meeting here, he stressed the need to discourage use of polythene bags, ensure checking and monitoring of prices of essential commodities, implement the polio eradication programme, hold open kutcherys and nominate focal persons at divisional and district levels linking them to the provincial information media cell for information sharing and response generation.

The meeting took a number of decisions for efficient delivery and giving relief to the public, according to a statement issued here on Monday.

The meeting was attended by administrative secretaries, commissioners and deputy commissioners from across the province.

Appreciating the performance of different districts, Kazim Niaz expressed satisfaction over the price stability of essential commodities in the markets. He noted that there was tremendous positive response to the farm markets as giving relief was the primary goal of the administration.

He directed the commissioners of Malakand and Hazara divisions to plan enhanced level of facilitation at all the tourist destinations.

Dr Niaz also appreciated the actions taken against encroachments and directed constant monitoring of the whole exercise.
