Hocus Pocus 2 ‘in the works’ at Disney

The sequel of the famous witch movie Hocus Pocus is in the works. The follow up to the 1993 movie starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy, will be made for the film giant’s upcoming streaming platform Disney+ which launches in the US on November 12.

Hocus Pocus wasn’t a blockbuster but became a cult classic over the years. The film followed Max Dennison (Omri Katz) a teenage boy who moves to Salem and accidentally resurrects Winnifred, Sarah and Mary Sanderson on Halloween after lighting the black flame candle.

The three witches, who had been dead for 300 years, plan to steal the children’s youth in order to stay young and beautiful forever, but struggle slightly in the modern world.

None of the original cast members are attached to the project, however, sources say they may be incorporated into the movie.
