SUKKUR: Jacobabad police on Sunday claimed to have arrested Rab Nawaz Burriro alias Rabbu, the prime suspect nominated in the murder case of Sindh United Party (SUP) activist Qaimuddin Sarki.

They said his alleged accomplices had already been arrested but Rabbu had managed to escape into Balochistan.

Sarki, the owner of a bakery, was shot dead in Thull town of Jacobabad, apparently by extortionists, on July 7. The police said they had received a tip-off about presence of Rabbu at a place in Jafferabad town of Balochistan. A police party led by Tariq Tareen was sent to the area, they said, adding that Rabbu was arrested in a raid on the specified place.
