TAXILA: The district health authorities on Sunday launched a crackdown on violators of the Punjab Healthcare Commission Act 2010 and sealed an outlet of a quack besides imposing a fine on a private hospital for unhygienic conditions in Hassanabdal.

Following public complaints, a team of health department led by deputy district officer Dr Naeem Akhter raided various clinics and private hospitals in parts of the city and found a quack treating patients at his ‘clinic’. The outlet was sealed and legal action under drugs act initiated against the quack.

Separately, a private hospital was fined for poor hygiene conditions on its premises.

WOMAN DIES

Quarrel over a petty dispute between two brothers led to the death of their mother who was shocked on seeing one of her sons bleeding and died of cardiac arrest in Yaseen Kallan village in Hazro police station on Sunday.

Police sources said that Umer, 17, severely beat up his brother Noman, 15. Noman was brought to home bleeding profusely. On seeing him, his mother suffered a heart attack and died.
