TIMERGARA: Two young men were killed when unknown attackers ambushed their car on a link road near the tehsil headquarters hospital, Talash, late on Friday night, residents and police said.

They said someone informed the Talash police early on Saturday about the presence of two bodies in a car. The police rushed to the site and shifted the bodies to hospital for autopsy. The victims were identified as Zafar Ahmad, 32, and his friend, Zubair Shah.

Relatives of Zafar said the family had no enmity with anyone.

According to the postmortem report both the men received multiple bullets, as a result of which they died on the spot. Neither someone claimed responsibility of the incident nor have the families charged anyone. The Talash police registered a case against unknown accused and started further investigations.

According to local residents, motive behind the incident could be a property dispute as one of the deceased, Zafar, worked as a property dealer in the area.

Also, a jirga on Saturday settled a feud in Toormang Darra and convinced the rivals to live like brothers in future, residents said.

They said the families of Sherin and Sher Nawab had been running an enmity for long. They said a jirga led by ANP district general secretary Malik Mohammad Zeb started efforts to settle the feud and made the rival families to reconcile.
