KHUZDAR: Five people were burnt to death and 10 others injured when a passenger coach collided with a van on the Quetta-Karachi national highway near the Winder area of Lasbela district on Tuesday night.

Officials said the high-roof van caught fire after the collision, resulting in the death of five people. Ten other people travelling in the coach were injured. The coach was going from Turbat to Karachi .

Soon after the incident, police and rescue personnel rushed to the site and shifted the bodies and the injured to the district hospital. Those who received burn injuries were later shifted to Karachi. The officials said the fire was caused by smuggled diesel in the passenger coach that engulfed the van.
