PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court on Tuesday removed two judicial officers from service on charges of misconduct.

The administrative committee of the court removed from service additional district and sessions judge Nasir Kamal Yousafzai and civil judge Tayyab Ali, according to two notifications issued by the PHC registrar.

In the notifications, it was stated that in pursuance of the decision of the administrative committee on May 20, 2019, disciplinary proceedings were initiated against the accused officers under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Servants (Efficiency and Disciplinary) Rules, 2011. The accused officers were served with show-cause notices and were also heard in person.

After complying with the entire prescribed procedure under the rules, the competent authority has found that the charges in the show-cause notices have been proved against the accused officers; and therefore, a major penalty is imposed on them, state the notifications.
